A clean seam is craft. A bar-locked loop is engineering.

SongShort cuts clips whose loop points land on the actual bar line — the wrap isn't just smooth, it's musical. Sign up: 3 full packs free.

Frequently asked questions

Why does looping matter for Shorts and Reels?

Average watch time is the ranking currency, and platforms replay short clips automatically. A seamless wrap keeps viewers through the restart — effectively doubling watch time — while a clunky seam is a scroll-away moment.

How does the checker score my seam?

It compares the audio right at the end against the start: level jump, spectral mismatch, and click risk. Green means the wrap will pass unnoticed; amber suggests a crossfade; red means the end and start genuinely clash — recut so the last beat hands off to the first.

What makes a clip loop musically?

Whole bars. If your clip is exactly 8 or 16 bars at the song's tempo, the downbeat after the wrap lands where the groove expects it. Duration ≈ bars × 240 ÷ BPM — the readout does the math while you nudge.

Can the tool fix a rough seam?

The crossfade option blends the last fraction of a second into the first — it fixes level and click issues instantly. It can't fix a musical mismatch; only moving the cut can.
